There are many different kinds of activities for everyone
on the Sunshine Coast.
Looking for adventure? That's easy! Hike a 2 1/2 mile trail
through a lush 307 acre rain forest to view the world famous
tidal ebb and flow of the Skookumchuck
Rapids. Or
perhaps a tour up the Princess
Louisa Inlet where you can marvel at the beauty of Chatterbox
Falls. Charters leave from Egmont Harbor, only five minutes
away. Read below about the other great things to do while
vacationing on the Sunshine Coast of BC, Canada.
World Famous Princess Louisa and Chatterbox Falls
"Spend time ashore in this granite bordered fjord.
Like everyone before you it will dominate your future dreams.
It was carved by the force of glaciers. The steep sides are
mirrored in tranquil waters. Waterfalls are numerous, and
change with the passing of each weather system. Every encounter
with this wonderland is unique."

Mountain
Biking
Stop in at On the Edge Bike Shop in Sechelt and they can give
you a full rundown on all the local trails and mountain biking
in the area. They can even arrange a guided tour on one of
the many trails in the Halfmoon Bay area.
Hiking
Trails
There are several hiking trails in the area ranging from a
15-minute stroll to a 1-hour hike. Explore the 10,000 year
old growth forest of the Caren Range, or Skookumchuck Narrows
with 5 meter (15 ft) tides and the largest salt water rapids
next to the Bay of Fundy.
Boating
and Beaches
The dock is great for swimming or you can explore the lake
in a non motorized boat or canoe. Just down the road is the
community of Egmont and the world famous Skookumchuck
Narrows where you can watch the extreme white water kayakers
ride the waves in the tidal flow. If you like boating you
can rent a boat at Lowe's Resort or Buccaneer Bay and cruise
around the inlets and bays or maybe a fishing charter from
Secret Cove is more your speed.
Scuba
Diving
British Columbia has been rated by National Geographic and
many famous divers, among them Jacques Cousteau, as the fourth
best dive spot in the world. February 2003 issue of Rodale's
Scuba Diving Magazine rates B.C. as the top overall dive destination
in North America. Drop down and visit some of the largest
species of octopus in the world, friendly wolf eels, sea lions,
pods of orcas, white-sided dolphins and stellar seals. Do
you like to scuba dive on wrecks? The Sechelt Inlet has one
of the most spectacular wreck dives in British Columbia. It
was an exciting day when this graceful ship was sunk in deep
water to begin her life as one of the largest diving wrecks
on the Pacific Coast. The HMCS Chaudiere is just a short boat
ride from the head of the Sechelt Inlet and must see for all
avid divers. For all your diving requirements visit the local
dive shop, the Sunshine
Coast Diving Shop in Sechelt .
Fishing
and Boat Charters
There are a variety of saltwater and freshwater fishing spots
